Hi, Just thought I should summarize my wants about NOX after using it for 3 months. First, I would like to thank everyone for getting me up to speed on NOX. Okay, now for the wishlist. (Caveat: mainly used NOX in C/C++, also only doing mobility stuff in NOX) 1) An explanation of the cooperative threading is definitely needed in the documentation. It is not very intuitive. 2) For routing, it is basically a core component which is very popular. An update have been made already. However, I would love to see a cleaner presentation of the route installation. Currently, installing multicast route (i.e., a tree) is not very easy. The tool can be generalized to do that. Providing support gather-cast route would be great too. 3) The authenticator basically tracks the connection of hosts. That database should be exposed for changes too. This is especially in mobility where the next point of connection can be known in advance. Query on current point of connection should also be supported. 4) In general, the events of NOX should be documented. That would make tracing the expected functioning of NOX easier. 5) I would really like to have a database of flows in NOX. This seems very useful, unless it causes a performance backslash. 6) Query of flow table, and building of OpenFlow packets, should really be standardized. The current method is simply messy.
These would be my personal wishlist for NOX. Hope to see at least some of them. Of course, they are other wishes to support mobility but those are fights for the future.
