Agreed, this is sorely needed. To be clear, what happens internal to Nox depends on the components being run. Perhaps a step-by-step description of path setup with the basic components (authenticator, routing) would be most useful?

Need a little help. I am going through the code of NOX-full version 0.5 (beta). I would like to know if there is a object diagram or sequence diagram for the code. Specifically I wish to know if there is some flowchart that shows the life of a packet in the NOX network right from the moment it originates from the end-host, it goes to the OF Switch (reference implementation) and then to the NOX Controller.

It will be helpful for me to understand the code if such a reference exists.

Since it is the full version, there are various management applications in the component class. I do not have a test-setup to experiment and understand the flow in details.

I am able to get some information from the nox-mailing list, as for example the description given by Martin here:

http://noxrepo.org/pipermail/nox-dev_noxrepo.org/2009-October/000882.html

and similar posts does through some light. But, if some flow-diagram or sequence diagram exists in, would be of great help. Infact, I would eventually like to test in the setup similar to the one shown in here:
http://noxrepo.org/pipermail/nox-dev_noxrepo.org/2009-October/000872.html

but, with all the switches in the same subnet (since as Martin mentioned, different subnets would not work).

Anyway information on the flow would be helpful.

Regs.
