hi, Ok, I found the problem. I tried it one several Debian(Debian GNU/Linux 5.0), with several version of git. And it seems to work on one of my debian with git 1.5.6.5. However it doesn't work on my other debian with git 1.5.6.5 and git 1.7.0.5. So as you said the problem is not in the directory itself but in the configuration debian/git.
