Generator for JavaBindings

I fixed the Generator for JavaBindings. But what it is actually expected 
to do? Currently the generator creates a java-pom.xml in the root, and 
the java class for the Mojo in src/main/java....

But shouldn't it be in javabinding subfolder?
Or is this just a first time generator?

Why is it bound to assembly phase?
