In general KISS does nothing for me live, even when Prince does it.
Part of what makes the song so great to me has to do with the studio
dynamics behind the production--the hi hat triggered by the rhythm
guitar, the snare, the gated kick drum instead of a bass line, and his
falsetto. The track makes effective use of silence and aural
space--and that's not something that works well live.
<Moderator: I have to beg to differ. The arrangement that he has been
using for a year nows if funny and always always a crowd favorite.
