hey!!! I was at the same aftershow- (saw the main show on friday), and
couldn't have been more than a few spots ahead of you on line (although we
waited about 2 hours- front of the line sure does bulge when the main show
lets out). How great was that?!?!?!?! I'm still on a high just like your
wife, I got to shake his hand at the end!!!!! My seat was about 2 feet from
his!! The blond dancing in front of the horns towards the end was my
friend. I left my green wristband on for 3 days just to remind myself I was
really there and it wasn't a dream!!! I heard u yell out out Anna Stesia
and wished he'd done it. one of my top favorites. Excellant choice! I
think I would've lost my mind though if he'd actually have done that
song....I was hanging by a thread already, lol!!! While waiting on line I
was thinking of more guitar oriented songs to request as didn't see him at
the piano the night b4 (i was in the outer room on friday). my requests
would've been I'm Yours,
Electric Chair, or 17 days. Once he asked from the piano, I just kept my
mouth shut!:) didn't matter though, he does what he wants anyway it seems,
HCYDCMA has been done in previous aftershows from what I've read. I'm so
glad u had such a great time and have to say I give you tons of credit for
the 36 hour thing. I was there wed-mon and am still trying to recover:)
and you said it perfect....it was "awesome, awesome, awesome"!!!!!!!!

After about 30 minutes of Jazz, Prince
comes in, no security, red snazzy suit and just sat at a table and
listened. He then got up and joined in.
I recall a few Jazz Numbers, Crazy by Gnarls Barkley, Another Mary J.
song and Te Amo Corazo. He sat alone at the piano and we started
shouting out requests. It was nice NOT to hear corny request like "When
Doves Cry." I recall hearing, Free, The Other Side of the Pillow and I
shouted out for Annastesia. He played the music to How Come You Dont
Call Me Anymore and requested that we sing the lyrics. It was funny,
when the song was over he said "that's it, no more requests." We started
cracking up.
The jazz band came back and they played some more and so did Shelby and
then Mr. Kip Blackshire performed Superstition by Stevie Wonder.
During the Aftershow performances the songs were long funky version. I
dared my wife to go to the front of the room and dance with the others
in front of Prince and the band. She quickly left and shook her booty
for about another 20 minutes! She claims Prince gave her a high five but
I didnt see that!
It was awesome, awesome, awesome.
Being in that
small room with what appeared to be fellow fans was even better. It had
the feel of a Celebration.
If anyone is thinking of doing this....you have 3 votes of HECK YEAH
from Susanna8, IrisNPG and Goyluh - but go the VIP route!
The high my wife is on at this very moment is worth every minute of
standing in line, the money we spent and the sleep deprivation....
We're tired but it was well worth it.
Thanks to all the kool peeps in line...at both venues!
