Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope the NPNY posse got its share of good food, lots of fun and great
shopping.

I couldn't let another day pass (I've been meaning to do this for a couple
of months now) without writing about this. Every time I turn around I'm
hearing about yet another performer who has been inspired by and copied
Prince.

Most recently Jay-Z performed at Hammerstein Ballroom and guess What Jigga
What, Jigga Who had? A horn section and all live instruments. No
background
tape or tracks for this performer. Jigga did the acoustic sing-along and
then
in Prince like fashion walked off the stage saying "Y'all don't need me."
when the crowd knew all the words to his songs----COPY CAT.

I saw Beyonce on tour this summer, and home girl had a serious percussion
section along with horns. And just about everyone, Jay-Z, Beyonce, all of
the
Prince wanna-bes are doing an acoustic sing-along mid-way through their
performance. Homegirl also did an interlude of "You Make Me Crazy" halfway
through
her "Crazy in Love" song ----so Prince---COPY CAT

And, now, guess whose playing instruments during his performance? Justin
Timberlake. He played both the piano and the guitar during his recent
tour. I
guess singing isn't enough and now artists want to show that they're more
than just singers and they're multi-talented---COPY CAT

Just goes to show how Prince has inspired the world and now everyone is
aiming to be a better performer, talent and be their ultimate best on
stage. I
can't complain. People should be working harder for their money. May
Prince
continue to keep setting the bar higher and higher. I'm not mad at the
copy
cats.

Enjoy your holiday weekend,
Mable
