Great news about D's comeback. But I'm cautious about any collabo as
Prince doesn't really have a good record of real authentic
collaborations that bring out the best in both artists. Usually Prince
overshadows or his input is so at odds artistically with the other
artist that his presence is often minimized in order to maintain the
artistic vision of the other artist.

The Rave un2 collabs are a perfect example... Sheryl Crow, Gwen
Stefani, and Ani DiFranco are barely noticeable. Chuck D & Eve offer
a guest rap, and Maceo plays sax... but as far as an artistic
contribution beyond a performance, it's just not there.

In face, I'm drawing blank in trying to think of an example of a
successful collaboration that Prince did that combined two strong
artists' visions. (Music by Prince, lyrics by Nikka Costa in "Silver
Tongue" was a good match up.)

Well this is artist facing Collab not a Prince facing so he won't be
overshadowed. Steve Nick - "Stand Back", Steve Wonder "what the fuss"
