Sheila E. to Lead White House 'Fiesta Latina'

Percussionist Sheila E. will perform at the White House next Tuesday as
head of the house band for Fiesta Latina, a concert to be hosted by
President Barack Obama in honor of Hispanic musical heritage.
Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan and Jose Feliciano are also scheduled to
perform at the event, which will be taped by PBS for broadcast on Oct.
15. It will then air on Telemundo Oct. 18 and on V-me Dec. 25, according
to Daily Variety.
Other entertainers scheduled to perform include Jimmy Smits, Pete
Escovedo, George Lopez, Thalia, Los Lobos, Tito "El Bambino" and
Aventura. Chef Maricel Presilla will serve as the evening's guest chef.
Fiesta Latina follows previously Obama-hosted concerts to highlight the
arts, including a jazz session in June and a country music performance
in July.
