Debby and others,
In response to your inquiry about "How to use data with campus
administrators for local Improvement", here are four excellent Resources.

1) "Cooking with Data" Powerpoint available at:
http://www2.edtrust.org/EdTrust/Conferences+and+Meetings/2004+Presentations..htm

Presentation from The 15th Education Trust National Conference "
"Cooking with Data" Thursday, November 11, 2004
Presenter(s): Daria Hall, Policy Analyst, The Education Trust,
Washington, DC
Description: The amount of education data available has never been
greater. Nor has the potential for educators and advocates to use this
data to their advantage. Data is the key to understanding what is in
education, as well as what can be. This session will explore simple yet
effective methods of collecting, analyzing, and communicating about
education data.
Check out more resources at the Education Trust website:
http://www.edtrust.org

2) Tools for School Improvement Planning: A Project of the Annenberg
Institute for School Reform.
http://www.annenberginstitute.org/tools/using_data/
In the Using Data section, you'll find resources to help you use data
effectively in your school-improvement efforts, including a Data Focus
topic that will be updated periodically.

From the homepage: WHY USE DATA?
Everyone can - and should - use data to drive school-improvement
efforts. The Annenberg Institute believes that any effective
accountability system must be grounded in the continuous and reflective
collection and analysis of good data - and lots of it.

3) An excellent website full of resource materials and presentations has
been compiled by the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory
NCREL. The website includes online tutorials as well as print materials.

4) Research Brief: Using Data for School Improvement is a Principal's
newsletter complete with lots of useful links to resources materials and
additional websites. The Principals' Partnership is sponsored by Union
Pacific Foundation. The newsletter can be downloaded:
