Are people collecting information from Evaluation/Re-evaluation
records? For some it may mean checking with the county health
department given nursing services may be subcontracted/partnered
through them.
With health issues coming into the forefront (e.g., ed grants for
childhood obesity) and issues of "closing the gap" especially in regard
to cultural and ethinic disparities of student PSO (not to mention in
school levels of performance), an added piece of data that may prove
helpful (telling?) would be to include questions that provide
information describing the interrlationship between health care
(healthy kids), learning, and culture.
See below the event in Seattle, WA:
This week, at the fifth National Conference on Quality Health Care for
Culturally Diverse Populations, held in Seattle, The Commonwealth Fund
released a series of reports exploring the role of cultural competency
in improving quality and outcomes for patients, reducing disparities,
and helping patients become more active and engaged in their care.
Medical professionals who are culturally competent consider a patient's
race and ethnicity, cultural background, primary language, health
practices, and value systems when recommending treatment and providing
care.
