NPSO Community of Practice Call
January 13, 2011
Hi all: This is a reminder that our NPSO Community of Practice
Teleconference will be on Thursday January 13th.
Topic: Response Rate, Why are students with disabilities not engaged
after they leave high school and how have you reached those hard to
reach populations?
NPSO staff will be facilitating a conversation between states about
their SPP/APR analysis and what states have learned about students who
are leaving high school, particularly students who fall into the
non-engaged group. States will be encouraged to share information about
who falls into the non-engaged group and improvement activities that are
being developed to reduce the numbers of individuals who fall into this
category. We will also discuss the state’s response rate to I-14 data
collection and strategies for reaching those hard-to-reach populations.
Some questions to think about include:
1. What was the outcome that stood out most in your SPP/APR analysis?
Share one positive outcome and maybe one that was somewhat
shocking.
2. Have you drilled into your data to determine what is happening with
the non-engaged group?What did you find?
3. What will you do with this information?
4. How will you use this information to develop improvement activities?
5. What types of improvement activities have you got planned to reduce
the number of individuals who fall into the non-engaged
group?
6. What was your response rate?
7. How are states currently reaching those hard to reach populations?

happening in your state on next weeks call.
