Hey all, I'm attempting to use ns-2 in emulation mode to provide a fixed line network to analyse games traffic. I have four client machines, one server machine and the ns-2 host, all connected over a real standard ethernet network. Using the game clients and servers on the REAL network I achieve ping delays of <10ms. However, when I use an ns-2 emulated network of the same type, I get delays of up to 100ms, which seriously affects the gameplay.
As I'm trying to carry out experiments on the game traffic, I need this to be improved dramatically. Does anyone have an idea how to optimise ns-2 in emulation mode, or another emulator which would be better? Thanks, Stephen.
