[ns] how to trigger an event at certain interval?

Hi all,
   
  I want to send a packet at certain interval in my routing protocol, but how 
can I implement this?
  I have followed the procedure of AODV when running a script, but the function 
AODV::sendHello() has never been called. I wonder how the line in this function 
"Scheduler::instance().schedule(target_, p, 0.0);" work.
   
  Will you give me some hint? Thanks very much!
