are you referring to the generation of the mobility traces or 
to the simulation
of the network itself? In the first case that's very 
strange, in the second case
it could be due to the fact that the 
default ns-2 scheduler is very slow in
allocating events far in time. 
My advice is to patch the scheduler with
the following code:
