[ns] Simulate a delay and additional packet payload

Hi
  I  want to simulate a  delay to deliver the packet and an additional payload 
...to simulate this i think i have to develop a filter to insert both the delay 
and the payload.
  to simulate all the traffic between nodes... this filter is supposed to be 
inserted at the input and output of the nodes
  any one knows or can help me how to develop this filter and were coz i have 
no idea about it.
