Hello,
you can specify the communication range of wireless nodes by setting an
appropriate value of the receiving threshold in the network interface:
*Phy/WirelessPhy set RXThresh_ <value>*
To compute this appropriate value:
*threshold -m <propagation-model> [other-options] distance*
look at the ns manual chap18.4.
