[ns] What is the role of EOTtarget_ and eotPacket_ attrobutes in mac_802_11 class in ns-2

Dear ns-users,
   
  I am tracing the code of the implementation of mac 802.11 in ns-2, I cannot 
explore what is the function of the following two varibales in the class and 
for what it is used:
   
  EOTtarget_ and eotPacket_ 
   
  can anybody give some hints about this issue?
