Hi Salvo,

Yes, it is normal. For instance there are 10 nodes that are within the range
of each other. If node 1 sends packet to node 10, then all the nodes
overhear the packet, and discard the packet (because the packet is not
destined to it). Thus, it is obvious that, in this case, nodes will consume
some energy.
