I'm just getting started with NS-2. I'm installing in a Windows environment, using the instructions from http://www.isi.edu/nsnam/ns/ns-cygwin.html.
I installed the latest Cygwin using setup.exe from http://www.cygwin.com, into the default directory c:\cygwin. The resulting installation takes about 5Gbytes of disk space, and contains over 100K files. Is everything that has been installed actually required for running NS-2? Can any of these files be removed or uninstalled safely?
