No issues here with ns-2.34 + hwmp / Ubuntu 12.04  32bits :
$ tar xvf ns-allinone-2.34.tar.gz && cd ns-allinone-2.34/
$ tar xvf hwmp_rev282-ns234-patch.tar.bz2
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7S255p3kFXNcUxBT0hBX2ZNNFE/edit?usp=sharing
$ export CC=gcc41 CXX=g++41 && ./install
$ cd ns-2.34/ && cp ns ns-hwmp && sudo cp ns-hwmp /usr/local/bin/
$ cd tcl/ex/ && ns-hwmp wireless-mitf.tcl : OK. Out files :
'wireless-mitf.nam', ' wireless-mitf.tr'.
$ nam wireless-mitf.nam : OK.
$ cd ../../hwmp/ && ns-hwmp mesh_hwmp_example.tcl : Also OK. Out files :
'namout.nam' 'speed.tr', 'tracefile.tr'.
$ nam namout.nam : OK
