The "someone" in question is fully aware that Billy Pigg was a law unto himself, and frequently used non-standard methods to achieve his sometimes very spectacular (and occasionally spectacularly awful) effects. However I don't think this particular effect should be recommended to normal mortals, and in particular beginners who may not yet have a thorough understanding of Billy's place in the tradition. I would recommend some of his exceedingly good tunes, played at a sane speed. No, this is not an onlist row starting (nor an offlist one, before anyone asks!).
