That sounds eminently sensible Andy. I am in the unenviable position of judging the Lowland Pipes and will interpret the rules following my own prejudices, IOW if you play a bunch of short tunes lasting just under 4 minutes you won't stand a chance next to the person who plays a Dixon or Peacock variation set and goes over time. If you have any kind of keyed set I will disqualify you. If you play from the depth of your being and connect with the unseen essence of piping which hovers over Rothbury that will override all other considerations.
