Hi,

The Northumberland Fusiliers have now been amalgamated, like all of the of
the Regiments in the ever decreasing army of ours into 'The Royal Regiment of
Fusiliers'.

They don't have a pipe band but the first battalion does have a Northumbrian
piper. Last time I was working with them (last year in Germany) I put it to
them that they should have a pipe band playing Northumbrian half longs. The
response was along the lines of "We haven't got enough men or money to cause a
disturbance in a small chip shop.....We certainly could not maintain a pipe
band. When we go to war we have to borrow bulllets from the Americans.....".

Same respose as I got from the now disbanded Border Regiment when I tried to
get them playing Border pipes.

Hey ho.....
