<etc> Confused list readers may wish to know that this response was itself in response to an off-list message of mine which mostly went : ------------------------------------------------------------------ Are you familiar with the concept of a "hot potato"? <grin> I really, really hope you get some sensible and constructive answers. To the best of my knowledge only Colin has written down his method. Others regard theirs as trade secrets or have simply not got round to it. ----------------------------------------------------------------- I also would be interested in accounts of the various methods that have been used over the years and are still used today. Different people find different ways to approach any problem. Unfortunately I have found I have to be very careful onlist, particular with any humorous answers, since some folk seem unable to distinguish between personal opinion (for which I use this email address) and when I am speaking as NPS secretary (for which I use my "offishul" email) - even if I specify which I am doing. Very regrettably there are also a few out there who will use any facetious comment I make against the NPS committee in general - it's probably the price of putting one's head above the parapet, and trying to do a useful job. For the record, I would very much welcome a "here's all the methods - now you choose" publication, and wonder if the several times suggested idea of a reedmaking symposium would be viable as a start, even if some folk attend in hope of bloodshed!
