   No, it's been worth it - I'm seriously concerned that the traditional
   way of playing our instrument will be swept away in a wave of
   Pan-Celtic "syncopated jiggery" (as a uilleann piper from Heaton
   once called it)

   I'm off to join a fiddlers' email list.  I can't play the fiddle, but
   I'm sure the members of that list will be enthralled with my suggestion
   that Nathaniel Gow held his bow wrongly <grin>
