I calculate the shipping of CDs for my business ( www,bagpipediscs.com - shameless plug!)as being 6 ounces including packaging. For a disc to the UK that costs $5.64. However this assumes a disc with liner notes and a regular jewel case. Using a slim case and padded envelope can bring this down - or even just the disc in a cardboard mailer. Based on this I would say you could bring it down to 4 oz ($3.96) or 5 ($4.80). From what I can see on the Canadian Post Office website this would be approximately C$4.52 or C$7 with the Canadian dollar worth almost as much as a US dollar at present.

I've been told that the cost of sending a small packet to England, such as a CD (this came from an overseas entrant to the NPS competitions) is now incredibly expensive, and have been asked if it is possible to do it by download in future.

Is this a general problem abroad, or is it just the one country (Canada)?

Thanks for any price comparisons.....offlist, perhaps.
