Hello all,
....so what we consider aEUR~ normal key signatures' , there are
problems which are related to the speed of playing the tunes since the
addition of the seven keys which are related to either playing notes
with the thumb or taking both thumbs off the chanter.
This is a learning curve for me too-I have to think!
I now think of what the little finger has to do; double key-work,
bottom E key to top A key.
So adding keys of seven has it's problems with the speed of the tunes
in G and D. because on a primitive chanter, it's all holes for each
   finger.
I seem to remember that I once did something about the aEUR~ More you
get away from the keys of G and D, and play in A maj., C maj., F maj.,
B maj., the more keys are played with the thumb and little finger in
succession; like playing the piano with one finger! .....Have we got to
the key of C yet? G and D seems a little hard. Is playing in the key of
C maj. harder or easier? It does depend on keying arrangements. Was the
Reids, Batey or Errington Thompson correct,or any of todays makers
   correct?
   More to come.....it's late...again.
   Adrian
