New question #120738 on NSsbackup: https://answers.launchpad.net/nssbackup/+question/120738
Please forgive me if I do not understand everything that is posted here. I've looked around for awhile to find a very simple backup solution for my little Ubuntu laptop here. It appeard that Simple Backup was going to work as it would backup to the custom location I chose, but the restore function wouldn't work as it wouldn't recognize the path to the backup. I thought this new backup product of yours would work but it cannot even backup to the location I need it to. I'm trying to backup to a partition on a hard drive which is located on my network on a Windows XP machine. I would typically enter smb://server/e$/LinuxBAK to browse to the drive. However, it does not appear to handle the "smb" protocol? When I try to use that, it comes back with an error message "No plugin could deal with that schema 'smb://server/e$/LinuxBAK' ". If I'm reading this correctly, your product is not compatible with Samba protocol? Is that it? I cannot backup to my remote drive on my Windows XP machine? -- You received this question notification because you are a member of NSsbackup team, which is an answer contact for NSsbackup. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~nssbackup-team Post to : nssbackup-team@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~nssbackup-team More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
