Right clicked on sbackup icon in the system tray, clicked "Cancel
backup", an error window popped up and requested that I file a bug
report.

The window said:

Sorry, this should not have happened
An uncaught error occurred. Close this message window and restart the 
application.
Please report this error on bugs.launchpad.net/sbackup.

'pynotify.Notification' object has no attribute.
'attach_to_ status_icon'
