I'd agree with you entirely if it wasn't July tomorrow and 'friendlies'
starting next week!

This side would walk the championship in (again) but I'm not confident of
beating Wham or Wig on in August.

I am really positive about what has and will happen. This is a great
signing. It's a fair wedge of cash and shows that we're serious. Given all
of the other clubs that were interested it's a real achievement and should
help sign other players

However:

It's a good first team but without much depth in defence and midfield. A
couple of injuries and we're no further forward. I think Hahnemann might
start.

You're right that we need more in these areas. I think two more defenders
and a central midfielder and winger is the minimum. Surman looks likely,
but not sure he's much better than what we've got.

I think these signings will come. I'd still like some experience in there.

How about this line up based on signings so far?

Hennessey

Foley Stearman Berra Elokobi

Kightly Henry Milijas Jones

Doyle SEB

Very young team! I think the oldest is Milijas at 26?

Need to strengthen with a centre back and a left back as we have all
discussed. Maybe another left sided midfielder / winger as well.

Up front I think we are fairly well covered with SEB, Doyle, Iwelumo, Vokes
and Keogh. Then again with MM's penchant for signing centre forwards maybe
someone else will be coming in.

I wouldn't be surprised if we offloaded Iwelumo now for a decent fee.
