Bothroyd was on target in the 4-0 drubbing of Watford, but continues to
incur the wrath of his boss.

Jones admits he is in danger of losing his voice after constantly
bellowing instructions at his mercurial frontman, but insists the former
Arsenal trainee remains an integral part of his plans.

"Jay still does things that annoy me, but his quality is there for all
to see," he told said. 

"Jay has everything you look for, but you just want a full game out of
him. If he was closer when he goes down and stays down, I would be
booting him.

"In this division if you have a big fellow who can hold the ball and win
the majority of headers it puts opposing defenders under pressure.

"When Jay did not perform we didn't play as well as we are capable of.
Jay is the one who needs to be put under pressure. He has to be under
pressure verbally and I'll stick one on him if he doesn't do it."
