Agreed, unfortunately we're not going to be able to attract any players of that calibre. I would like us to try and use the loan system better than we have in the past.
When you look at players like sturridge on loan at bolton and wellbeck on loan at sunderland, they are players that have had big impacts and injected pace and flair to those two teams. A couple of loan or bosman signings might be the way to go now to give us that kick start to another level without big capital outlay. We should be able to get some better players than Mancienne in on loan. Lescott from City? Most other clubs do it. We've tended to get the young and hungry players from the fringes rather than those that are towards the end of their career and that might be time to change now.
