It will be interesting to see if Sunderland had a new Manager already lined up? If so, no reason, why he can't take charge for Sunday's game.
I lived in Newcastle for a couple of years and used to go to Roker Park whenever Newcastle played away. Sunderland fans are some of the best going and generally speaking back the Manager religiously. However, if you go on their various forums the overwhelming opinion was for Bruce to go asap! Basically 2 wins in 10 games just not good enough. A very similar record to our beloved MM. I wonder if the other M's have a plan if Sunday's game is a disaster? Teams that sack their Manager always seem to win the next game.
