Most successful manager post war on a % win basis. A bit biased as he only played in one tournament and there are a lot more rubbish teams in qualifiers than there used to be.
He was good and then went mental and turned into every other England manager at the World Cup with bizarre team selections. I suppose his players playing up didn't help.
