How about rights on the computer you are installing? Do you have full
permissions to install? What if you just launch the msi without the GPO?
Does it install successfully or do you get an error? Could be your MSI is
bad.

Does the computer object have rights to "access the computer from the
network"?

Have you checked to make sure the computer object has rights to the
directory SP2 is located in?

Hi All,
I'm having a problem trying to get Win2k sp2 out to our client's desktops.
Here's what I'm trying to do: I've set up a test OU and placed my
computer in the OU. I've packaged the update.msi file and associated the
group policy with the test OU. I waited a few moments and then restarted
my computer. Everything seemed to work fine, the computer settings took
affect and then it said sp2 was installing, but it didn't. This is my
first experience using GPO for application rollouts and it hasn't been a
good one as of yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm receiving
these two error in my application event log:
