Here are two articles to help in setting up SSL with IIS5.0 and Cert Server.
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q290/6/25.asp
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q299/5/25.asp
I don't believe either one of these address the setting up of the Cert
Server itself, but they handle the back end. Now one thing to remember for
sure is to make sure that the SSL port setting is correctly filled in once
you turn on SSL. It will not work without it and I don't believe it will
automatically fill it in either.
The setup of the Cert Server itself is fairly straight forward. Just
install the Certificate Server component and follow the wizard through.
There is no need to run the advanced wizard portion as this will likely
confuse you more.
When all is said and done you will want to avoid the "this site is invalid"
pop up by providing the ability for your users to download and install the
CA Certificate to the trusted sites location. Once this is done they will
no longer get the pop up error. You may want to alter the default CertSrv
web page so that you provide instructions for the user regarding
installation of the CA Certificate.
Hope this helps some.

Subject: Setting Up Certificate Services/Setting up OWA to use SSL
I have been going through the help files and am getting
confused as to what all needs to be done to setup the Certificate
Services with Win2k. My end goal at this time is to be able to use SSL
for OWA but I'm not sure where to start. So far I have started setting
up a Certificate Server but I'm not sure what kind of a "Public and
Private Key Pair" to setup during the install process. Right now we are
planning on only using this for our own users so we haven't wanted to
purchase an outside certificate, would it be better to purchase a
certificate or just use a Microsoft one? Are there any step by step
documents anywhere I can look through for setting this up? Any help
would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
