Current configuration: One Domain Eight Servers all configure as domain Controllers The operating system is Windows 2000 Server SP2 MIX MODE. Most of our workstations are NT and 98. One DNS server Static IP for all servers.
Problem: A couple of weeks ago I found the following message in some of the Domain controllers Directory service Event Viewer: Event ID: 1586 Source: NTDS Replication Type: Warning Description: The checkpoint with the PDC was unsuccessful. The checkpointing process will be retried again in four hours. A full synchronization of the security database to downlevel domain controllers may take place if this machine is promoted to be the PDC before the next successful checkpoint. I when to Technet and I found an article that has the same error message (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q269/4/17.ASP) >From the eight servers five of them show this message every four hours; the other three servers do no show any error messages. I did apply some of the changes the Technet article recommended, however it did not seem to help at all. I also run some test with the Active Directory Replication Monitor and I could find any errors. Any Recommendations Thanks Juan Rosas ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
