I've been trying to install Internet Explorer 5.5 SP 2 and Internet Tools on two computers on my network. Setup runs, then quits within 10 or 15 seconds with the following message: "A previous program installation was never completed. You need to restart your computer to complete that installation before running Internet Explorer Setup. Setup will now close." I was not doing any "previous program installation." The error occurs even after cold reboot. No other identically configured computers had this problem. We are not considering IE 6.0 yet, but I suspect even that will fail; I tried installing a previous version of IE as well, to no avail. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.
