Yes it can. Within the Active Directory structure, TRansitive trusts are used, and setup automatically upon creating domains int he forest. But if you want to trust specific domains with an NT domain, then you will have to manually configure a trust relationship in each win2k domain with the NT4 domain, and it will not be transitive, just normal.
