Along the same lines as this discussion, I've noticed that a good deal of my
users are now sporting a US flag in the right-hand corner of their display.
I'm in the pickle of trying to decide whether be the "network nazi" and
remind users that unauthorized software is unauthorized (this approach would
ultimately be viewed as unpatriotic and frowned upon by management) or just
let it slide. Does anyone know of a good resource to find out if any of
these "9/11" programs are actually detrimental. I feel that, in this
instance, discretion is the better part of valor and unless there is a true
risk that I should leave the users with these programs. Sometimes you just
have to pick your battles...

KaZaa is big time spyware. Morpheus is the best one of the two. For more
information on current spyware, go to http://www.infoforce.qc.ca/spyware.

I agree whole heartedly. Morpheus is top notch. If you want to continue to
use the other one simply do an add/remove on the savenow. It should be in
the programs listing. Everything works just fine without it.

Use Morpheus instead. Same engine without the backdoor links

If I'm not mistaken....
Savenow is for the ads
And it uses IE instances to let you search and display results
etc...it's basically an IE wrapper and a web based service

Those things are normal...but idunno of any backdoors it may have.

Does anyone know about any backdoors this app has? I love this program
and a
lot of users are running it too. I noticed it forces savenow.exe to load
(hidden) and today it forced a mess of ie web instances.
