Whose VPN product are you using? Are you using the VPN functionality built into the OS? What OS?
I didn't misunderstand you. It sounds like you are using a VPN option built into the OS, either L2TP over IPSec, or PPTP depending on the OS. It also sounds like if you place a shortcut to the VPN connectoid you are prompted to connect and you want to avoid the prompt? Is that accurate? ----Original Message Follows---- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Reply-To: "NT 2000 Discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "NT 2000 Discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: VPN Auto Dial? Date: Thu, 8 Nov 2001 17:25:18 -0600 Depending on the vendor? Perhaps my original email was not claer enough. I have connected the DSL modem to the router. So my PC automatically connect to the Internet once it is up. However, I have to manually connect the VPN to my company's network. I have tried to let it automatically dial up in Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Connections. But it does not work. So I wonder what the options I have to automatically connect to the company network. BTW, you talked about the shortcut. When I tried it, I only can get a shorcut of the connection that is already in 'My Network Places'. I wonder how I can setup the shortcut to 'Connect' the selected connection?
