It is an empty domain that will hold no resources other than the FSMO roles. It will be the empty root domain of our Forest. Eventually, there will be three DCs in this Domain. The domain name is a valid, registered domain on the Internet, though we have no plans to put resources from this domain on the Internet. When existing domains are upgraded they will join the forest The other domains are the ones that will have resources that are accessed by clients. I believe W2K Server is fine for this box, but am considering hedging our bets and using W2K Advanced Server instead. Considering everything else that goes on around here, the additional cost for the AS license is not much of a factor. The goal is to eliminate any possible rework because we did not use AS in the first place. Comments for or against using W2K Advanced Server?
