I am a database developer working on my MCDBA. I have no network admin experience. Since I am almost at the beginning of my study, I thought I would start learning the Whistler OS rather than Win 2000. To do that I would like to set up a home network to learn the basic concepts (at most four computers on the network).
I can get a refurbished Dell Optiplex GX1 computer for under $300. I found in the Win XP compatibilty list (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/catalog/ then drill down) that Dell Optiplex GX1 computer is "Compatible with Windows XP." I would like to know if I will be likely to be able to install Whistler on this computer when it comes out. Is there a list that I can find this information on, or if it is on this list, it will likely to be compatible?
