Is this on a workstation, that this message is coming from? I had this
problem on a workstation, changed the driver to a post script driver and the
error went away.

In the dr wateson log we get:

Application exception occurred:
        App: spoolsv.exe (pid=2776)
        When: 27/11/2001 @ 11:12:26.535
        Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

and in the event log we get: Get the same message virtually but with an
event id of 4097.

I have checked Technet but the only article that looks relevant is Q260142.

If any one can give me any pointers this would be appreciated. Is there any
additional logging that I can increase to help me diagnose the problem more
easily.
