We had a similar issue a few months ago. A Win2000 Pro SP2 machine froze and/or restarted without warning a few times a day. It turned out to be a bad or incompatible RAM chip; after removing it there were no more problems with the system.
Any new hardware on the system lately? --Salvatore Current WinAmp Song: Insert cool song title here. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Huot, Denyse Sent: Thursday, November 29, 2001 11:00 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Freeze in win2000 Is there anything in the logfiles that may help you out at the time of crash? Have you tried re-installing the SP again? Are there any hardware conflicts? What are you doing at the time of the crash? (is it related to what you were doing when it crashed the last time? - same app running, etc...). Hope these suggestions help, Denyse -----Original Message----- From: Vansteelandt, Christophe [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, November 29, 2001 3:00 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: Freeze in win2000 Hi, A win2000 computer with service pack 2 freezes completely at random time, a few times per day. The latest drivers of all the components have been installed. What are the other possibilities to trace the cause of this, apart from installing w2k from scratch and installing every component one at a time ?
