some time ago a bought a DELL with a CDR running windows 2000 Pro in the beginning I had some problems using the CD burning software ( EasyCD Creator 4.x now ROXIO) without Admin permissions, however after searching DELL's support site I found a patch that solved the problems. Also I installed the latest version of Roxio(5) in another 2000 PC and I have not have any problems using it as a regular user.

Can you burn CD's with the most popular software (Roxio EZ-CD, Nero, etc.) in Win@K without being a local admin? I heard that since CD-Burning requires low-level direct disk access you need admin rights in Win2K. If this is true, this is the most compelling reason to keep my users as local admins of their machines. -Alex ------ You are subscribed as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
