It has worked every time with NT4. This is my first time with 2000.  I have 
the system back at the original state. Going with plan B now.  Just going 
to bring it down add the new controller and a hard drive, install 2000 on 
the new drive, copy the file over.  About an one hour job, compared to 3 
hours of trail and error yesterday.  <DUH>
