Hello All,

I have an old DEC Alpha NT4 Fileserver which is a BDC.

Permissions are set using "User -> Global -> Local -> ACL".

We're about to replace this server with a Dell 755 NAS, which runs embedded
2000 Advanced Server. It will be a domain member server.

We have kit on order to replace the remaining domain controllers and migrate
the domain to 2000.

This is one of the situations where I appear to have gotten stung by
following the MS best practice. I now need to migrate the local groups to
the new server (which will not be a domain controller). Once this is done I
plan on copying the data using Arcserve (which copies permissions).

I use Hyena which will copy local groups and members between servers,
however the resulting SID is obviously different, so when the copy is done
the permissions show as "Unknown"

I've looked at Q250267 and am left wondering if there's any options that
aren't quite so "manual" - using subinacl it looks like I would have to do
each drive and group one at a time, to me the syntax isn't the clearest so I
may be wrong

Thanks in advance,
Paul
