I believe Commerce Server 2000 is the product that will replace Site Server.
But I agree, I don't believe there is a real need to upgrade right at this
point. Commerce server has a load more functionality to it than site server
did though. It's worth checking out.

Why not still use Site Server? It will work fine in W2K with a little patch
and the latest SP.

We are currently using the search functions of Microsoft Site Server on a
box running NT4 Server.  We want to upgrade the machine to Windows 2000
Server but we are having problems figuring out what product has replaced
Site Server, as Site Server is apparently being phased out. The Index
Service that is included with W2KS is insufficient for our needs, as it does
not index URLs, only directories and UNC paths.  Does anyone know which
product is supposed to replace Site Server?  Thanks.
